SOFA PROTEST NOTE AGAINST THE FREE TRADE ZONE PROJECT IN SAVANE DIANE
Solidarite Fanm Ayisyèn (SOFA) Condemns the February 8, 2021 presidential decree that makes Savane Diane a free trade zone.
Declaring Savane-Diane a free trade zone amounts to destroying the environment, destroying agriculture, destroying livestock and, at the same time, condemning farmers to go and work in factories, in particular the stevia factory, in anticipation of feeding Coca-Cola, for a pittance, without any social compensation. In other words, it will reinforce food insecurity in Haiti, the impoverishment of the country including the outrageous feminization of poverty.

Joint Statement from U.S. Human Rights Clinics on the Constitutional & Human Rights Crisis in Haiti
As U.S.-based law school clinics working in solidarity with Haitian civil society, we are deeply concerned about the deteriorating human rights situation in Haiti and about the U.S. response to date. Credible evidence shows that President Jovenel Moïse has engaged in a pattern of conduct to create a constitutional crisis and consolidate power that undermines the rule of law in the country. We call on the U.S. government to denounce recent acts by President Moïse that escalate the constitutional crisis.

Message for the nation!
The Solution to the Crisis is Rupture
NOUPAPDÒMI sends greetings to the press and to all Haitians everywhere. In the most difficult moments, NOUPAPDÒMI always stands with the Haitian people to demand justice and our right to LIVE. On the eve of the end of the presidential term, which expires on February 7, 2021, NOUPAPDÒMI calls upon the population to wake up, so as not to allow political profiteers, civil society profiteers who collude with certain actors in the international community who are only concerned with the state of their own affairs, to lock the door to the rupture, the clean break, that we are seeking.
Defend Haiti’s Democracy
As we write this letter, a human rights disaster is unfolding in Haiti. The warning signs have been clear for more than a year. There is no doubt that Haiti has been faced with chronic political and security challenges. But the current levels of state-sponsored violence and authoritarian repression of lawful and peaceful dissent are of an order not seen in the country in decades. Immediate action on the part of the international community, including the Haitian diaspora, is required to address the present climate of lawlessness, instability and unconstitutionality and to prevent an escalation into full-blown bloodshed.
Mesaj pou Nasyon an!
Solisyon kriz la se Ripti
NOUPAPDÒMI ap salye laprès ansanm ak tout Ayisyen alawonnbadè. Nan moman ki pi difisil yo, NOUPAPDÒMI toujou kanpe kote popilasyon an pou reklame jistis ak dwa nou pou nou VIV. Lavèy finisman manda prezidansyèl la k ap bout 7 fevrye 2021, NOUPAPDÒMI vle lanse yon apèl bay popilasyon an pou l reveye l, pou l pa kite aferis politik tankou aferis nan sosyete sivil nan konplisite ak kèk aktè nan kominote entènasyonal la ki ap regle zafè pa yo, klete pòt ripti n ap chèche an.
Message des Évêques Catholiques d’Haïti (CEH)
Frères et sœurs bien-aimés,
Message from the Catholic Bishops of Haiti (CEH)
Beloved brothers and sisters,
1. Faithful to our mission to accompany the People of God, to enlighten men and women of good will, and to be in solidarity with all our compatriots, especially those who are suffering, we, the Catholic Bishops of Haiti, consider it essential to fix the position of the Church in the current situation of the country, a situation of extreme distress: following Christ, the Church is always on the side of law, truth, justice and respect of life and human dignity. This is our steadfast and unalterable position, whatever the circumstances. However, although this is clear and unmistakable, we can add two observations:
Haitian Bar Federation (FBH)
Believes that the constitutional provisions relating to the length of Mr. Jovenel Moses' term in office must be understood in light of the restrictive interpretation imposed on parliamentarians on 13 January 2020;
Notes, therefore, that the term of President Jovenel Moise is due to end on 7 February 2021, i.e., "five years ... following the date of the elections";
Considers that the Provisional Electoral Council unilaterally appointed by President Jovenel Moise has no legitimacy to organise the next elections;
